    Our 2nd or 3rd rendition of 'Freeware Fridays'.

    Flight Plan: KHLN - KBZN - KCOD - KJAC

    Summary
    Our commemoration flight to freeware developers that keep things fun and interesting for all of us. This is always a great event for sharing new aircraft that users have found and flight tested as well as scenery and other add-on options for our flight simulators.

    Time-zone BreakDown: Friday, August 7th, 2015 at:
    9PM Eastern
    8PM Central
    7PM Mountain
    6PM Pacific

    ::Other Useful information::

    Target Airspeed: [130kias -160kias]
    Average Cruising Altitude: 4,500 FT - 8,500 FT AGL (mountains in area all over flight paths, be advised.)
    Preferred Aircraft: Freeware Aircraft! I will be flying something from Dino Catteneo's hangar most likely.

    Steam/Boxed/P3D users welcome.

      I will fly Robert James Richardson's Cessna 310Q (12th on page). It will easily do the 12,000ft required for this flight at 160 kts.

      Novawing24 has several additional repaints for this plane here. Like this one:

      After installing the plane I strongly recommend you make the following change to the aircraft.cfg file:
      Code:
      Change:
      thrust_scalar = 1.30                            //Propeller thrust scalar
      to read:
      thrust_scalar = 1.0                            //Propeller thrust scalar
      This ensures the airplane flies realistically, without crazy acceleration or top speed.

      Flying notes:

      Take-off: flaps = 0, rotate at 90 knots.

      Gear max speed = 152 knots
      Flaps max speed = 152 knots (2 notches of flaps available)

      Approach at 110 knots at half flap.
      On very short final, select full flap and reduce throttle to 40% (and no less).
      Touchdown at 75 knots.

      Notes:
      • Engine is auto-mixture.
      • Switches have British orientation (down = on).

      I shall fly the light blue "Storm Avionics" paint.

      Last edited by Storm; August 8, 2015, 12:41 AM. Reason: Added note on switches.

              First group flight was loads of fun guys! Thanks to Austin Blair for showing me this a few months back. He is the reason why I bought FSX and my joystick.
