Very low level, along road and river, in vintage fighters.
Week 34: Kansas KICT>KTOP*>KFLV>KMLE * Touch and go only at KTOP. FLIGHT PLAN
Flight plan in tabular form, flight maps and airport diagrams here. CRUISE Speed: 200+ knots Altitude: Very low VFR (using your judgment to avoid obstacles) AIRCRAFT World War II fighters, single or twin prop. Maneuverability is key. There are large numbers of suitable freeware and payware aircraft available. The default P-51 (technically a later version for racing) is acceptable. Night-fighters and fighter-bombers are acceptable. The Bristol Beaufighter, on my OneDrive, works well. I will fly a twin-engined fighter-bomber: either a Beaufighter (OneDrive), a P-38 (FSD payware) or a DH98 Mosquito (Dave Garwood). RESTRICTIONS No jets. No aircraft whose model wasn't originally operational in WWII. WHICH VERSION, CLASSIC OR STEAM? We will be using Classic, not Steam. We will continue to use Classic in future weeks for the Great 48! until I can assure pilot security for the flight, at which point we'll include Steam in joint Classic/Steam flights, leaving no one behind! WEATHER Server weather will be set to "fair". (Client side real weather not required.) SCENERY Default OK. Highly recommended: FSgenesis US landclass (inexpensive payware). FTX Global 1.30 and Vector 1.20 good but optional (expensive payware). Vector users please see recommendations here. RECOMMENDED SCENERY ADDITIONS FOR FTX GLOBAL USERS You can download the whole series of freeware FTX global airport packs here. Topeka (KTOP; touch and go only) and Omaha (KMLE; final stop) are both Orbx airports.:eagerness: |
