Happily surprised to find Tōdai-ji temple, at Nara, east of Osaka, modeled in FSX (though the ground texturing is awful). In real life, Tōdai-ji is very old, dating originally from the mid-700s CE, and has been rebuilt several times due to fire and earthquake. Until less than 20 years ago, it was the largest wooden building in the world. It is the home of the largest bronze Buddha statue in the world, also dating originally from the mid-700s CE, and also recast several times due to earthquakes.

(I have worked in Osaka and visited Nara.)


Seemed odd, however, to land a Ukrainian military helicopter in the temple grounds, albeit a United Nations one!
