      Great! I will be there.

But don't you think that 460kts of GS are kind of too fast for 25.000?

      Sorry if I am wrong.

It's only about 280kts indicated. Is that too fast?

Uh, I thought it would be around 310kts of indicated. I think I am wrong.

          No problem then Sound.

          ignore my previous post...

I believe at 25,000 feet, you need 322 knots indicated airspeed to achieve 450 knots ground speed. If you prefer, this is about M 0.745.

(280 kts indicated only yields 398 kts ground.)

Hmmm, so what is a realistic GS/indicated for 737's to cruise at? Would it be more around 300kts indicated?

Kalo, I think that 300-310 kts indicated for cruise speed would be better.

Correct if I am wrong, but according to this calculator, www.hochwarth.com/misc/AviationCalculator.html, 300kts indicated with ISA conditions, is equivalent to 431kts of TAS, and M0.71. I think that 300kts of indicated would be great.

The typical 737-800 cruise speed for 35.000ft is 0.785.

Again, correct if I am wrong.

Thanks tass, we can do 300kts indicated.

miserlysun5, you can fly any jet aircraft that can maintain 300kts indicated @25,000ft. Most of us will be in airliners.

I didn't do the math, but my gut agrees with tass. 500's about all you can muster at FL380 with a tail wind... so 450 seemed a bit high for FL250. Thanks for looking into this, all!
